Archaeo-Environment was established in 2003 by Caroline Hardie, the former County Archaeologist and Head of Conservation for Northumberland. Since its foundation the reputation of the company has grown and grown and we now have a broad client base covering a range of heritage environment services. In 2006, to cope with increasing demand, the business expanded with a new permanent senior archaeologist and in 2008, Niall Hammond joined the team as Principal Heritage Consultant. In 2009, the team were joined by Dr Jonathan Shipley on a part time basis. Together, we can offer over fifty years experience of professional archaeology and a wealth of first hand experience covering a broad spectrum of sites and projects.

In addition to our core staff we also have a wide network of tried and trusted specialist who we call upon depending on the size and requirements of the job. These range from field archaeologists to artefact specialists, landscape architects, agronomists, environmentalists, ecologists, arboriculturalists and marine biologists.

Based in the North of England we have offices near the beautiful medieval market town of Barnard Castle, but we provide services across the UK.
