Design and Access Statements
This is a document which often accompanies planning applications or Heritage Lottery Bids which shows that the applicant has thought carefully about how everyone will access a heritage site including disabled people, older people and young children. Such statements, particularly in the case of Listed Buildings will need to be accompanied by a brief explanation of how the design has taken into account the historic and special architectural importance of the building and its setting. We at AE can help you with this aspect of your application and provide advice on establishing a Design Brief which meets the needs of all users without compromising a site’s historic character.
