Since its creation in 2003, Archaeo-Environment has established an excellent reputation for local community work. We can:
-
Help you get your project off the ground, produce feasibility studies, set goals, get funding and help you manage your community project.
-
We work with children of all ages to use the historic environment to support key learning areas.
-
We produce popular publications and all forms of interpretation media.
-
We give illustrated talks and lead guided walks.
-
We arrange ‘hands-on’ training sessions for schools and community groups in aspects of field archaeology and survey.
Central to a number of our core projects has been community consultation and we pride ourselves in having a first class record in public liaison.
Archaeo-Environment staff have also written two popular books on archaeology, appeared on Time Team, featured on BBC’s Countryfile and have made numerous appearances on local radio and television. We run training events for local archaeological societies and other community events which allow local residents to tell us what they value about their local heritage.
